Applications & material

What this machine is built to produce

The same frame serves different buyers depending on the profile and the material grade. Start from the application closest to your project, then check the section sizes below.

Where it is used

  • Steel door frames for commercial, education, healthcare and hospitality buildings.
  • Frame fabricators supplying door sets to contractors on a project schedule.
  • Plants that need hinge, strike and fixing holes punched in line.

Suitable material

Cold-rolled mild steel
1–2 mm
Hot-dip galvanised steel
1–2 mm
Prepainted steel
1–2 mm, PU rolls on request
Stainless steel (special build)
1–1.5 mm

Target profiles

  • Wrap-around door frame, 1.5–2.0 mm, 100–200 mm reveal
  • Single rabbet frame
  • Double rabbet frame
  • Frame with an integral stop and weather seal groove

Working process

From coil to finished profile

The sequence below is the standard layout for this model. Stations are added or removed when the section needs more forming passes.

  1. 01 Decoiling Manual or hydraulic decoiler.
  2. 02 Feeding guide Entry guide with a straightener for 2 mm coil.
  3. 03 Hydraulic punching Hinge, strike and fixing holes punched before forming, so the holes stay flat.
  4. 04 Main roll forming 17 stations forming the rabbet and stop.
  5. 05 Cut to length Hydraulic post-cut with a frame-shaped die.
  6. 06 Run-out table Roller table; frames are long and heavy at 2 mm.

Main components

  1. Main roll forming machine 17 stations, φ75 mm shafts, chrome plated rolls.
  2. Hydraulic punch unit Punch and die set for hinge, strike and fixing holes.
  3. Hydraulic cutting device Post-cut shear with a frame-shaped die.
  4. PLC control cabinet Length, hole pattern and batch settings.
  5. Hydraulic station 3 kW pump unit for punch and cut.
  6. Run-out table 3 m roller table.

Optional configuration

  • Hydraulic decoiler 5 t with coil car
  • Servo feeding
  • Second punch die for a different hinge layout
  • Notching station for the frame corner
  • Automatic stacker
  • 440 V 60 Hz electrics

Options are priced into the quotation line by line, so you can see what each one adds.

Samples & running line

Profiles from this machine, and the line in motion

Every line is sampled before shipment. Photos below are from the build of this model; the video shows the line running on production material.

Samples are supplied as 1 m frame sections with the hinge and strike holes punched, so you can trial-fit a hinge set before shipment.

Profile range

  • Wrap-around door frame, 1.5–2.0 mm, 100–200 mm reveal
  • Single rabbet frame
  • Double rabbet frame
  • Frame with an integral stop and weather seal groove

Engineering & service

Custom build, installation and after-sales

A roll forming line is only finished when it runs on your material at your output. These three parts of the scope are quoted together with the machine.

Custom engineering

Door frames are a dimensional product: the reveal depth, the stop position and the hinge layout come from the door schedule, not from a standard catalogue. Send the frame detail drawing and the hinge template, and we will match the roll set and punch layout to it.

  • Tooling cut to your drawing or sample
  • Electrics to your plant voltage and frequency
  • Layout and foundation drawing before shipment

Installation & training

An engineer supervises installation and trains your operators on the actual line — not on a generic manual. Training covers coil loading, size change, tooling change and daily maintenance.

  • On-site commissioning and first production run
  • Operator training on your material
  • Remote video support if travel is not practical

After-sales support

A 12-month warranty on the mechanical parts, with a 24-hour response on technical enquiries. Wearing parts — rollers, punch dies, hydraulic seals — are kept in stock for fast dispatch.

  • 12-month mechanical warranty
  • Spare rollers and dies from stock
  • 24-hour response on remote support

What we need from you

Four inputs that decide 80% of the design

  • 01 Profile drawing with dimensions and tolerances
  • 02 Material type, thickness range and steel grade
  • 03 Target output per shift or per day
  • 04 Plant voltage, frequency and available floor length

FAQ

Questions buyers ask about this machine

Answers come from real quotation discussions on this model. If your question is not here, ask it in the form below and an engineer will answer it directly.

Why is punching done before forming?

Holes punched before the bend stay flat and keep their position tolerance. Punching after forming distorts the rabbet and makes the hinge position drift, which shows up later as a door that will not close squarely.

Can the line run galvanised coil?

Yes. Galvanised and cold-rolled coil run on the same rolls; galvanised needs a slightly larger roll gap and polished rolls to avoid flaking the zinc at the bend.

What frame depth can it produce?

100–200 mm reveal in the standard build. Deeper frames need a longer shaft and a wider base, which we quote as a variant.

What is the delivery time?

45–65 days after drawing approval, including the punch die.
