Delivering to India

Ports, transit time and electrical standard are the three things that change from country to country. The machine itself is built to your section drawing wherever it ships.

India is one of the largest cable tray markets in the world, driven by data centres, solar plants and industrial electrification, and buyers there increasingly want fully automatic lines rather than semi-automatic machines with manual cut-length setting. TUT Machinery loaded a fully automatic cable tray roll forming machine for a customer in India in April 2024; the line produces trays from 100 to 800 mm wide in 1.0 to 2.0 mm steel, with cut length and quantity entered on a touch screen and the line then running without operator intervention.

Shipment to India is by sea, typically to Nhava Sheva (JNPT) or Chennai, with transit of roughly 3 to 4 weeks from Wuxi. Indian plants run 415 V, 50 Hz, three-phase, and machines are configured to that supply with the control panel labelled in English. Installation and commissioning can be carried out on site by our engineers, who assemble and align the line, run trial coils and train operators until the machine holds tolerance on production material.

Questions

Buying and shipping to India

What cable tray sizes does the Indian line produce?

The fully automatic line delivered to India produces cable trays from 100 to 800 mm wide in 1.0 to 2.0 mm steel. Tray width, side height and perforation pattern are set by the roll set and punching tooling agreed at order stage; if your range includes wider trays or thicker material, we size the frame and drive accordingly.

How automatic is the line in practice?

The operator enters cut length and quantity on the touch screen and the line then runs by itself: coil feeding, forming, punching, hydraulic cutting and discharge are sequenced by the PLC. The operator monitors rather than handles material, which is why Indian buyers moving from semi-automatic machines see labour per shift drop sharply.

What is the delivery and installation process for India?

Production is typically 60 to 90 days, followed by 3 to 4 weeks of sea freight to Nhava Sheva or Chennai. We provide export packing, wooden crates and the documentation set for Indian customs. Our engineers can then travel to your plant for installation, alignment, trial runs and operator training.
