Delivering to Mexico

Ports, transit time and electrical standard are the three things that change from country to country. The machine itself is built to your section drawing wherever it ships.

Mexico is a major supplier of metal roofing to North America, and producers there tend to standardise on one line type and add capacity as demand grows. TUT Machinery has supplied a customer in Mexico with ten double layer roof sheet machines over five years; the most recent order was two lines, both built in our workshop for the same customer.

Sea freight to Mexico is typically to Manzanillo or Veracruz, with transit of 4 to 6 weeks from Wuxi. Mexican plants commonly run 440 V, 60 Hz, three-phase, and the drive, inverter and control panel are configured to that standard, with line speed verified during the factory test run rather than on site. Because the customer runs several identical lines, we keep the profile drawings and electrical records on file so every new machine matches the ones already in production — same section, same speed, same spare parts.

Questions

Buying and shipping to Mexico

Why does the Mexican customer keep ordering the same line?

Standardisation. Running several identical double layer roof sheet lines means one set of spare parts, one training programme and one maintenance routine across the plant. We keep the original profile drawings and electrical records, so each new machine matches the ones already running and can be operated by the same team.

How do you handle the 440 V, 60 Hz supply in Mexico?

The motors, inverter and control panel are configured for 440 V, 60 Hz, three-phase. Because 60 Hz changes the motor speed for a given drive setting, we calibrate line speed during the factory test run and record the parameters, so the machine arrives producing at the specified rate instead of being re-tuned on site.

How long does delivery to Mexico take?

Production is typically 60 to 90 days, followed by 4 to 6 weeks of sea freight to Manzanillo or Veracruz. Modules are packed in wooden crates with the hydraulic station and control cabinet packed separately, and we provide the export documentation set for Mexican customs clearance.
